When he will try to train to save Rukia after she has been kidnapped by Byakuya and Renji, Ichigo will turn to the very suspicious and eccentric Kisuke Urahara. This one will then invite Ichigo in the gigantic basement of his candy store in order to prepare him to face the forces of the Soul Society. In addition to the particularly rough training sequences during which Ichigo will almost lose his life on more than one occasion, it is the final stage of this unorthodox training which will see the appearance of Zangetsu, the representation of Ichigo's Zanpakuto, while the latter will be plunged into a struggle against himself, taking place in his own mind.Afterwards, while training this time with Yoruichi to develop his Bankai, Ichigo will return to his inner world to find Zangetsu. But instead of finding the man he had met during his previous training session, he discovered a specimen resembling him in every way except that he appeared to be much more evil. Unlike the average Shinigami, Ichigo has the particularity to have been infused with a dose of Hollow. Thus, the second version of Zangetsu in his mind is supposed to represent the part of Hollow in him. A rather evil part against which he will fight in order to learn later to tame it to get even greater powers. When he will train against the white Zangetsu, Ichigo will almost be annihilated by this last one who, in reality, seeks to take the top to finally control Ichigo. Ichigo will manage to overcome him and, thereafter, will succeed in controlling his Bankai. A Bankai which, during his fight against Byakuya, will nevertheless be interrupted by the resurgence of the White Zangetsu which, for a few moments, will take control of Ichigo. In the aftermath, the White Zangetsu will evolve to merge with the Black Zangetsu to regain its initial version, the ultimate embodiment of the powers that Ichigo will later enjoy. What was an "evil" part of Ichigo's powers will in fact turn out to be a part of a whole that Ichigo will enjoy in his quest for power. The Funko POP figure of Ichigo Kurosaki as an evil spirit - also known as White Zangetsu - is similar in every way to Ichigo Kurosaki. Except that the Hollow version of Ichigo Kurosaki is much more vicious in its appearance. No more red hair while the POP figure of Ichiko Kurosaki in spirit is entirely white from the feet to the tip of the hair. Indeed, the black kimono of the Shinigami also takes on a white color and even the color of the Zanpakutô he wears sees its colors reversed as white becomes black and black becomes white. With its cruel red eyes, the Funko POP of Ichigo Kurosaki in spirit perfectly represents the evil side of the character. A character who, in his introspective struggle, will allow Ichigo to progress but also, to evolve later on to his Vizard form as he harmonizes his Shinigami powers as well as the powers of the Hollow within him.
