Of all the mythical and brilliant duos that exist in South Park, there is only one capable of giving scenes as hilarious as those caused by the tandem Cartman and Butters. The episode AWESOM-O is a blatant proof of it. Jimbo and Ned, Mr. Garrison and Mr. Knock, Kyle and Stan, Tweek and Craig, or even Terrance and Philip; none of the South Park duos can match them. The relationship between Cartman and Butters is perhaps the best tandem dynamic in the entire series and was brought to the forefront during the episode from which the Funko POP AWESOM-O figure is taken.Butters has long been Cartman's favorite sidekick - because no one else can stand him - as well as his favorite subject of harassment. AWESOM-O is a perfectly representative episode of their relationship, mixing calculations and dirty tricks. Disguised as a robot in order to trick Butter into revealing his secrets, Cartman is trapped in his disguise for fear that Butters will reveal a compromising video about him. Cartman will then play the AWESOM-O comedy for days, even going to Hollywood, trained by Butters who still hasn't guessed anything about the deception.Having to pretend to be AWESOM-O, to be Cartman, when he was only supposed to be in that role for a few hours while deceiving Butters, will last for days. Days during which, in order to keep on pretending to be a robot, Cartman will have to give up eating in order to remain as credible as possible. A simple and machiavellian plan will then turn against Cartman, forced to pretend to be AWESOM-O until he even ends up in the office of Hollywood producers using him to generate movie scripts. One of the producers even goes so far as to try to use him for even less avowed uses. The plan will go so wrong that the government, also believing that AWESOM-O is a real robot, will try to dismantle him in a delirium that only the creators of South Park can maintain. The AWESOM-O unmasked Funko POP figure will then go back to the most horrible moments Cartman will have to go through during his journey in Los Angeles. Unable to feed himself by any means, he will come to swallow toothpaste to try to subsist as best he can while his AWESOM-O plan keeps getting out of hand. The unmasked AWESOM-O Funko POP figure then shows Cartman without his AWESOM-O helmet. The face represented by the unmasked AWESOM-O Funko POP figure is obviously disturbed and confused. You can almost see the regret in Cartman's eyes after trying to play a dirty trick on Butters to the point where his plan will have backfired very badly. Faithful to the details of Cartman's costume, the Funko POP AWESOM-O figure is obviously equipped with all the little "robotic" accessories featured on the costume to make said costume as faithful as the original.
