Neo certainly has the merit of being the chosen one, the one on whom all of humanity rests, but he would never have been anything without the intervention of Morpheus. He is probably the most deserving character in The Matrix in the sense that he organized the resistance against the machines and did everything possible to find the chosen one. And he did it with flying colors.Morpheus originally presented himself to Neo as what could be a hacker. The latter, in fact, contacted him first by computer messages and then by telephone only. During a long period, he appears as a hovering shadow whose silhouette is not exactly measured. This is due to the fact that Morpheus must remain in hiding in order to escape the defense programs of the Matrix. It is he who, after having contacted Neo, will explain the unthinkable to him. It is him, indeed, who will teach him that humanity and the world as he knows it is only a virtual reality. That in reality, the human race is forcibly immersed in this false reality while machines use them as a source of nourishment. Finally, it is him who will give the red pill to Neo in order to incite him to discover the world as it is.Morpheus will be Neo's mentor in addition to being the leader of the resistance. He will teach Neo to fight and to master the smallest details of the matrix in order to fight against its agents. He will then be absolutely devastated when he discovers through the Oracle that Neo is not the chosen one he has been looking for for so long. When, betrayed by one of their own, Morpheus is captured by Agent Smith, Neo and Trinity come to his rescue. It is at the end of their rescue mission that they will finally discover that Neo was indeed the chosen one.Thereafter, Morpheus will continue to administer the Zion resistance. He will wage a relentless war against the machines, continually risking his life to end the Matrix. Played by Lawrence Fishburne on screen, the role of Morpheus, for the Matrix Resurrections, will be played by Yahya Abdul-Mateen II.The Funko POP Morpheus figure represents him as he is embodied in the Matrix. The Morpheus figure, in fact, represents his avatar, who is dressed in a long coat, a three-piece suit and a tie. Like all the regulars in the Matrix from outside, the Morpheus POP figure also has a pair of sunglasses. A sartorial characteristic shared by both the protagonists and the antagonists of the saga. The Funko POP Morpheus represents here the character armed to the teeth. With an MP5 machine gun in each hand, each brandished forward, the Funko POP Morpheus figure is all set to eliminate the programs of the matrix. But that doesn't stop him from being a formidable fighter, even without his weapons. Weapons that he will use extensively to eliminate the agents of the Matrix and their followers.
