Beth Harmon, real name Elizabeth Harmon, is the main character of the Netflix mini-series "The Queen's Gambit". The story tells the story of Beth's journey from her placement in an orphanage to her chess tournaments around the world, most notably the World Championships in Russia where Beth Harmon will face the only player she fears: Vasily Borgov.Beth learns chess from Mr. Shaibel, the caretaker of the Methuen orphanage.
