Mrs. Potts is a secondary character in the movie Beauty and the Beast, a film adaptation of the Disney cartoon. The story is based on a tale about the meeting of a young woman, Beauty, and an arrogant prince, turned into a monster because of a curse. One winter's evening, an old lady offers a rose to the prince in exchange for shelter, and the prince chased away the lady who turned out to be a witch. To punish the prince, she turned him into a horrible beast and cast a spell on the castle and its inhabitants in the form of various objects. All of them will be able to regain their human form the day the Beast shows itself capable of loving and being loved in return despite its hideous appearance.Mrs. Potts is thus transformed into a porcelain teapot with her children, or rather her tea cups, the most famous of which is Zip. She was the housekeeper, her role was to watch over the life of the castle and serve her master and his guests, especially during the meal where she managed the kitchen and the preparation of the dishes.
