Meredith Grey, played by actress Ellen Pompeo, is the main character of the American series Grey's Anatomy. This series was created by Shonda Rhimes and features the life of a fictional hospital, Seattle Grace Hospital, renamed Grey Sloan Memorial in season 9, and the lives of the interns, doctors and surgeons who work there. At the beginning of the series, we discover the new class of interns at the beginning of the school year. The day before school started, she met Derek Shepherd, who turned out to be a Seattle Grace neurosurgeon and would become her supervisor. Meredith also meets and befriends the other interns she will befriend: Cristina Yang, Izzie Stevens, George O'Malley and Alex Karev.In the first season, Meredith goes out with Derek before she realizes that Derek has a wife, Addison Montgormy-Shepherd. Throughout the episodes, we follow Meredith's life as an intern but also as a woman with her personal and sentimental stories.
