Five is one of seven siblings adopted by billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves to form the Umbrella Academy. Like the others, Number Five has powers. His gift is to teleport himself through time or space and is certainly one of the most powerful powers of the Umbrella Academy. Unfortunately, thwarting Sir Hagreeves' ban, Five used his power to travel to the future and got stuck there for 17 years...The Umbrella Academy is the series produced by Netflix whose main plot is based on the birth of babies on October 1, 1989. Each of his babies has special powers and Sir Hargreeves manages to adopt seven of them. His goal is to train them and create a group of superheroes capable of protecting the world.The seven children are raised the hard way, a strict upbringing where the days offer little entertainment. Sir Hargreeves is clear: the children must live up to their responsibility. His cold upbringing (he doesn't call them by their first names but by numbers) has led some of them to defy his authority and emancipate themselves. Five is finally the first one to leave the siblings since he disappears when he is only 13 years old .Stuck in the future, Five discovers a world struck by the Apocalypse. All men are dead, including his brothers and sisters who have visibly tried to stop the end of the world in vain. Number Five is alone (or almost alone, since he takes Dolores, the mannequin in a store, as his companion) and will wander for a total of 45 years in the future, 45 very long years of loneliness. One day, Five sees a woman approaching him, he can't believe his eyes. This woman is an executive of the Time Commission, an agency in charge of ensuring the smooth running of events on Earth. She offers him a deal allowing him to get out of the space-time where he is stuck in exchange for good and loyal services. Five accepts and becomes a hired killer in the pay of the Commission, but it is in reality especially for him a means of being able to return to the present and to thwart the Apocalypse which will destroy the world.Five, also called "The Boy" returns in the present on the day of the funeral of Sir Hargreeves, bringing together the entire Umbrella Academy (Ben is dead, but present via Klaus). He then embarks on a mission to save the world, but is pursued by two Time Commission killers Cha-Cha and Hazel. He tries to explain to his brothers and sisters that the end of the world is scheduled to happen in a few days but struggles to find support. It must be admitted that, back in his body as a little 13 year old boy, Five loses a little bit of credibility...For this POP of Five, Funko strikes once again just as we discover a figurine very faithful to the character. Five is represented when he has just returned to the present, therefore in his child's body. He has put on one of the costumes of the Umbrella Academy (logically still in his size) which is a kind of schoolboy uniform on which the coat of arms of the academy appears. He wears the full navy blue uniform with small shoes, pulled up socks, shorts above the knees, the white shirt under a wool vest, a tie and of course the suit jacket.On the POP, we recognize the childish face of Five, although his look and his frowned eyebrows give a glimpse of the haughty and arrogant side of Number Five. It must be admitted that in reality he is much more mature than the other members of the Umbrella Academy, and finally also much more responsible considering what he has seen in the future.Finally, in a nod to the series, Funko represented Five holding his cup of coffee and reminding us that the boy is always in search of "good coffee"!
