Pumbaa is an important character in the Disney cartoon The Lion King. This cartoon tells the story of Simba, a young lion cub destined to become king of the savannah after his father Mufasa. Mufasa's father dies, following a series of betrayals and manipulations by his brother Scar. The latter will incite Simba to flee, making him responsible for his father's death. Simba meets Timon and Pumbaa, a meerkat and a warthog. The two of them form a funny duo, full of energy, who only think about having fun! In Swahili, Pumbaa means "dizzy", "disoriented". It's a big, smelly warthog that lives apart from the other animals of the savannah because of its smell and digestion problems: it is prone to gas. When he meets Timon, the two outcasts decide to live according to the philosophy of the Hakuna Matata, i.e. "without any worries", a very Zen philosophy that pushes them to never take things seriously. These two friends are big children and spend their time having fun! It is during a game of "buzzard bowling", one of their favorite games which consists in running headlong into a group of vultures. When the vultures fly away, they discover the young lion cub, fainting from fatigue, which then becomes their little protege.On this Pop! figurine, Funko represents Pumbaa, with his four black hoofed legs and his brown color. He is represented sitting, with his head oversized compared to the rest of the body with the two horns of his mouth and his big ears. As always, he wears his big smile with his round eyes and his small tuft of black hair that gives him a nice look.
