John Hammond is a wealthy American businessman of Scottish origin and founder of Jurassic Park. Through one of his companies, InGen, Hammond managed to extract DNA from dinosaurs, enabling him to resurrect this extinct species. With millions of euros, Hammond is funding a research centre to recreate many species of dinosaurs and to open the world's largest leisure park where visitors will be able to wander among the dinosaurs. This project may sound crazy, but John Hammond is an eternal optimist and idealistic dreamer. He has had many entrepreneurial successes in the field of animal parks and believes strongly in the success of what should be his life's project.Faced with the concerns of lawyers, insurers and financiers surrounding the Jurassic Park project, Hammond is forced to obtain the endorsement of experts in various fields in order to remove all doubts in terms of safety. Thus he invited Alan Grant, Ellie Stattler and Ian Malcom to preview the park. When Hammond sees the amazement of the scientists, but also of his grandchildren, in front of the dinosaurs, he knows that he is touching his dream. We then discover his capitalist side and, although he seems to really love dinosaurs, we notice that he is especially attracted by the financial opportunity of the park. Everything changes when, as a result of a malicious manipulation by an employee, Dennis Nedry, the security of Jurassic Park is compromised and the old man sees his dream collapsing minute after minute in a veritable chaos?John Hammond's POP figure is a nice tribute to the character. On one side, we find Hammond, the colonialist and capitalist entrepreneur in his all-white suit, his short-sleeved linen shirt, his beige hat and his gold watch on his wrist. On the other hand, we also find on the POP the character of the gentle grandfather with a white beard and moving around with his cane.Funko has pushed the details to the maximum: the small pockets on the shirt, the imposing bicoloured glasses, the well trimmed moustache and beard, but above all the amber containing a mosquito from which is extracted the DNA of the dinosaurs fixed on the cane.
