Aang is the protagonist of the American cartoon, Avatar, the Last Airbender. He is a 12-year-old boy who lives in the temples and is a member of the Air Nomads. Aang is the new Avatar, a person who can master all four elements at once (Water, Earth, Fire and Air) whose goal is to maintain balance and peace in the world. One day, learning that he has become the new Avatar, young Aang runs away from the temples with his companion Appa. But the two friends were caught in a storm and Aang locked himself and Appa in ice to protect themselves. It is only 100 years later that they will be found and freed in the South Pole by Sokka and Katara. Young Aang learns that the world is dominated by the Fire Nation and that everyone is waiting for the return of the Avatar to end the war. Aang, along with Katara, Sokka and later Toph, will go on a great journey together in which the Avatar will have to learn to master the 4 elements and put an end to the Fire Nation's threat to restore peace in the world.Aang has a very pacifist character and prefers to solve problems without violence and even if he is forced to use his strength to fight, he restrains himself by giving priority to defense and trying to subdue his opponents rather than trying to hurt them. This attitude is common to all Airbenders, all of whom are vegetarians and believe that all human lives are precious. The only exception to the young boy's pacifism is when his friends are threatened. He can then go into a rage and attack his opponents with all his strength and abilities, even going into an Avatar state. Like all boys his age, Aang loves to have fun and play jokes. He likes to have so much fun that he sometimes forgets his responsibilities and the important role he has as an Avatar. However, behind this carefree teenage behavior lies a real guilt, a huge mental and psychological burden that eats away at his innermost being. Because of his high responsibilities as an Avatar, he is a future hero, a savior in spite of himself. He regrets running away and leaving his people and the world behind. Aang feels responsible for what is happening in the world today, seeing during his journey all the damage and misfortune caused by the Fire Nation during the Hundred Years War.The young Avatar's fighting abilities are incredible. He is naturally talented in Airbending, and was the best of the Air Nomads. Moreover, as an Avatar he was able to master the three missing elements in less than a year. This is quite a feat, as the former Avatar Roku had told him that it could take years to master all four elements, but Aang did it very easily, although technically not perfect in some elements. Aang is also able to send back lightning thanks to Zuko's teaching and he is the first one to do it which shows again that he is an exceptional Avatar. On this POP figure, Funko presents Aang the protagonist of the animated series Avatar, The Last Airbender. Aang is a short and slim 12 year old boy, even though he is actually 112 years old. He has traditional Airbender tattoos, "gray arrows" on the top of his head going across his back and down to the back of his hands. The young Avatar, in this POP figure, is in a meditation position with his fists together, his left foot on his right knee, balancing on his famous airscooter. A technique he created himself when he was still with the Air Nomads. A technique that relies on the rotation of his air sphere to allow him to move at a very high speed.
