Zazu is a red-billed hornbill and faithful butler of King Mufasa in the Disney studios' cartoon The Lion King. In this cartoon set in the African savannah, more precisely in the Land of Lions, we follow the adventures of young Simba, Mufasa's son. Mufasa is a king who is highly respected by his subjects and reigns with benevolence. He is accompanied by Zazu who advises him, watches over the kingdom and reports to him regularly. Zazu is a hornbill with blue and white feathers and a red beak with yellow tints. It has a white belly and its legs are orange-brown and its eyes are black. He has large black eyebrows. This zealous hornbill is loyal, rather talkative and has pretentious manners, which has earned him mockery from Simba and Nala. Despite Simba's teasing, Zazu is always present to watch over the young prince. In particular, he accompanies the latter when he pretends he wants to go for a walk with his childhood friend Nala when they want to visit the elephant cemetery, located outside the borders of the Land of Lions. It is thanks to his alert that King Mufasa comes to save Simba and Nala, who are ambushed by Scar's hyenas in the cemetery. When Mufasa dies, Zazu becomes Scar's butler but is relegated to the role of the king's entertainer, forced to sing to entertain the tyrant Scar.On this Pop! figurine, we recognize the red-billed hornbill from the cartoon.
