The plot of The Fifth Element begins in 1914, in Egypt, when an archaeologist discovers a secret room where five elements are stored. These elements, in reality, have existed since the dawn of time and serve to preserve humanity from Evil, a galactic entity whose vocation is to eliminate life in all its forms. The discovery of these elements by human beings, then, could lead them to be dispersed or even broken and thus, compromise the existence of humanity. The Mondoshawans, an extra-terrestrial race that created these elements tens of thousands of years ago, intervene on Earth to take possession of the stones in order to keep them safe. They promise to return in 300 years, when Evil is ready to strike, to use the five elements to fight it.In the 23rd century, as Evil begins to emerge in the far reaches of space, the Mondoshawans, in keeping with their word, return to Earth. At least, before they were intercepted by the Mangalores, a race of space mercenaries hired by Jean-Baptise Emanuel Zorg. The latter had been mandated by Evil himself to eliminate the ship and thus destroy the five elements. But the ship, in reality, only contained the Fifth Element.Only bits of its DNA remained after the explosion. Human science, however, was able to recreate the Fifth Element in its entirety from this sample. It then took the form of a young girl - played by Milla Jovovich - who had no command of human language and who, having just been brought back to life, learned to exist again. The machine that brought her back to life covered her with bandages while waiting to dress her. However, this Fifth Element, named Leeloo, frightened by the human scientists, decided to run away in a little outfit, wearing only the modest bandages that covered her body. It was in this outfit that she ran into Korben Dallas, crashing into his cab. The latter, charmed, could not help but come to her aid. Thus, the Funko POP Leeloo with bandages figurine represents what she looked like from her first appearances in the movie. The Leeloo with bandages figure, of course, is in line with what the character looks like, this one being particularly distinctive because of her orange hair instead of red.The Funko POP Leeloo with bandages, then, represents her in her very first version, just out of the machine that recreated her. Partially stripped, the Leeloo POP figure, nevertheless, remains relatively decently dressed. Indeed, the bandages that are hers cover most of her body, even if it covers only a little. The Leeloo Funko POP figure with bandages presents her with five horizontal bandages tied around her, from her chest to her thighs, as well as a vertical bandage linking them all together. It is then dressed in this strictly medical outfit that Leeloo went to the skyscrapers. The most perfect Being in the world, not surprisingly, is a pretty redhead with very little clothing. Perfection according to Luc Besson should not surprise us and the quality of this Funko POP Leeloo with bandages even less.
