Hippolyta is the queen of the Amazons, who live secluded on the island of Themyscira. Sent to Earth by Zeus, the Amazons repelled Ares the god of war before retreating to the island, hidden from men. Knowing that Ares would return, Zeus gave a child to Ippolit, the only one who could defeat Ares since only a god can kill a god...Diana grew up under the protection and care of her mother. Although she is the Princess of the Amazons, Diana's only thought is to train for the day when she must pursue the destiny of her people and confront Ares.Queen Ippolit doesn't look kindly on her daughter's attitude, doing everything she can to protect her. She will never reveal to Wonder Woman that she is the "killer of God", letting her think that she is a "normal" young woman. Caught by fate, Ippolit will have to let her daughter go so that she can destroy Ares and put an end to the conflict of the First World War.In the series of Funko POP by Wonder Woman, it was quite expected that Funko would offer a figurine of the Queen of the Amazons. Although she is not a central character of the story, she is one of the threads to understand the genesis of Wonder Woman.So we find a POP where Hippolyta is represented in her Amazon Queen outfit, almost entirely made of gold. The Amazons being warriors, her outfit is also adapted to combat. She wears a dress on which many pieces of armor are hung.We recognize the queen's physique, her long blond hair and her defensive attitude. She holds a sword in her hand, but this one is pointed towards her feet, symbol of her resignation to let Diana go and to lose her daughter so that the men can be protected by the one who will become Wonder Woman.
