Just as there is Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, there is Walter White and Heisenberg. Although the figure of Heisenberg is an alternative representation of the character, behind the glasses and the hat, it is always Walter White that we find. A Walter who, progressively and without realizing it, will let himself be swallowed by this fictitious identity of Heisenberg until it finally takes over.Heisenberg is obviously not a second personality of Walter White, it is a symbol in addition to being a pseudonym. Indeed, to carry out his activities as a methamphetamine cook but also as a salesman, Walter White, in order not to be recognized by the authorities, invents the personality of Heisenberg, a pseudonym inspired by his favorite physicist: Werner Heisenberg.Wearing a hat and a pair of sunglasses to better conceal himself, Walter presents himself to his criminal partners so that they do not know his true identity. In this way, Walter White, with this duality that separates his own personality from his criminal personality, creates in spite of himself an allegorical figure of what he tends to become. He was only a modest professor of physics and a good family man, he will become Heisenberg. A secret criminal identity that, in a sense, is similar to that of comic book antagonists. By dint of wearing Heisenberg's clothes, Walter White will end up embodying him in life, becoming a little more odious and cruel with each passing day, until he annihilates all the characteristics that made him the nice Walter White, overtaken by his criminal personality...Heisenberg is the incarnation of the dark side of Walter White. A subtle and cleverly brought incarnation - as Breaking Bad knows how to do so well - which aims at showing the spectator what Walter White becomes little by little during the episodes until he denies completely what he was.Otherwise darker than in its usual form, the POP figure of Heisenberg suggests that, in this state, the character of Walter White is much less sympathetic than in his natural state! Even the Heisenberg figure is somewhat oppressive and terrifying... that is to say, perfectly in line with the character it is supposed to represent. On the POP, we find Heisenberg with his emblematic black hat under which Walter White hides his shaved head. To better hide his eyes and half of his face, Heisenberg wears large black sunglasses and his gangster look is completed by a black leather jacket. Finally, Funko makes a perfect nod to fans of the character in Breaking Bad as Heisenberg holds a gun in his left hand and a bag of blue methamphetamine in his right, reminding us that he is as ready to sell drugs as he is to eliminate those who get in the way of his business... At a glance, we can then distinguish how the Funko POP Heinsenberg figure differs from the Walter White one. With only a few accessories, the same character looks completely different, especially if you put this POP next to the one of Walter in his underwear!
