Rosie the Riveter is one of the most popular feminist icons in American culture. Recalling the context of World War II and the patriotic appeal to women, Rosie is the one who personified an entire generation of Americans.Rosie's story can be traced back to a 1942 Howard Miller advertising poster showing a woman in factory dress clenching her fist next to the slogan "We can do it! ยป. This poster was a recruitment campaign to bring women into factories to work as welders, riveters, etc. because the United States was sorely lacking in manpower while men were sent to the front lines of the Second World War.The poster, later picked up by the press, gave all the women who went to work in the factories the name of "The Rosies". It was only later that the icon was also taken up again as a feminist icon of the strong and independent woman.Fini pays a beautiful tribute to American history with a POP figure that moves away from the great statesmen of the nation and founding fathers like the POP of Washington or the POP figure of Lincoln to make way for a more popular icon.So we find on this Pop of Rosie the riveter the young woman as she was drawn on Miller's poster. The figurine shows a young woman with curly brown hair hidden under a red scarf with white dots. Her face is made up and she is wearing her blue work outfit and brown shoes. On Rosie the Riveter's POP, the most important details remain the posture of the young woman as she stands with her fist closed to remind us that women are strong and can take the place of men in factories, as well as the riveting gun that Funko has of course not forgotten to represent. Finally, the colors of the POP are a perfect reminder of the rather garish colorimetry of the 1942 poster. We particularly note the blue and red contrast that will bring out the POP figure of Rosie the Riveter once presented on your shelves!
