Pogo is a recurring character in Netflix's The Umbrella Academy series. He is a chimpanzee who has the ability to speak. He was most certainly the result of an experiment by Sir Reginald Hargreeves and is now working for him. He works both as a butler at the mansion and as a personal assistant to the eccentric billionaire.Umbrella Academy is the series in which children all over the world are born at the same time with power. A billionaire decides to adopt seven of them to form a team of superheroes who can protect the world. The seven children are raised "the hard way" by Sir Hargreeves who does not give them any affection, nevertheless they have the love of their mother Grace (an android also created by Sir Hargreeves) and of Pogo who finds a place of "nice father" in their hearts.Pogo is intelligent and very mysterious. It's hard to say if he is some kind of wise man, always present to help the children as when he tries to comfort Vanya that she is ordinary, or if on the contrary, he hides heavy secrets as when he reveals to Luther that his father sent him on a mission to the Moon for four years with the sole purpose of keeping him away...
