Moana is the daughter of a Polynesian tribal chief from the island of Motuini. She is the heroine of the Disney cartoon Moana (Vaiana in French). This animated film is based on a Polynesian legend according to which, several thousand years ago, the demigod Maui stole the heart of the creative goddess of the world, Te Fiti. By losing her heart, the jade stone, Te Fiti disintegrated and today her islands, including the one on which the Moana tribe lives, are dying. A millennium later, the ocean chose Moana to accomplish the mission of reuniting the goddess Te Fiti and her heart. Indeed, while she is still a baby, Moana finds herself on the beach collecting shells when the ocean retreats to let her discover the underwater life. With her little legs, Moana steps forward and picks up the jade stone shining through the wave. Unfortunately, when her father Tui grabs it and pulls it away from the water, she loses the stone. When she becomes an adult, the future chief of the tribe sees her island die: the fish and coconuts die. So she proposes to cross the reef to find food for the people. Her father forbids her because it is too dangerous. Her dying grandmother gives her back the jade stone and explains to her that it is time to fulfill her destiny. In the night, she sets sail to search for the demigod Maui, together they will face many obstacles and return the heart of the goddess Te Fiti. By returning the heart, the balance on the islands of Polynesia is restored. When she returns home, Moana takes part in the ceremony that makes her head of the tribe. She also succeeds in convincing her father that their people must return to the sea, like her sailing ancestors. For this Pop! figurine, Funko represents Moana in her magnificent ceremonial outfit.
