Grumpy is one of the seven dwarves in the Disney cartoon, Snow White and the Seven Dwarves, an adaptation of the Grimm brothers' tale. This tale tells the story of Princess Snow White who finds herself living with her wicked stepmother when her father dies. The queen is very jealous of the young princess' beauty. When her magic mirror reveals to her that the young woman with "lips as red as a rose, hair as black as ebony and complexion as white as snow" has become so beautiful that her beauty surpasses that of the queen, she is furious and orders her hunter to kill Snow White.The hunter obeys the queen's orders, takes Snow White into the forest and pulls out his knife to kill her. But at the last moment, he drops his knife, he cannot kill the innocent princess. He lets her escape into the forest and warns her of the danger the Queen represents. Snow White gets lost in the forest, her fear transforms the trees into monsters but she ends up finding refuge in a small thatched cottage inhabited by the seven dwarves, who have gone to work. She discovers a messy, dusty house with a huge pile of dishes and decides to tidy it up while waiting for the return of the inhabitants, whom she thinks are children. It is by singing that she tidies up and orchestrates the work of the animals who have come in numbers to help her.Meanwhile, the seven dwarves are in the diamond mine and work together in joy and good humor. The clock strikes five o'clock and the dwarves go home whistling and singing "hey oh, hey oh, we're coming home from work". Snow White has fallen asleep upstairs in the dwarves' room. When they arrive, they see light in the thatched cottage and get scared when they see their house cleaned. They all point to Simplet to go upstairs, he discovers the young princess moving in the sheets, he gets scared and runs down the stairs. Finally, they take large axes and sticks and go back up to kill the monster under the sheet. They then discover Snow White waking up and they get to know each other. The dwarves agree to keep her with them, she will take care of the household chores.As its name suggests, Grumpy is the grumpiest dwarf. He always expresses his discontent, he is recalcitrant and impatient. He often rejects Prof's position when he disagrees and this leads to arguments, especially since he hates orders!
