Rafiki is an important character in the cartoon The Lion King. He is a mandrill, wise man of the savannah and advisor to Mufasa. At the beginning of the cartoon, Rafiki baptizes the Simba heir by sprinkling dust on his forehead. Finally, he introduces the newborn to the people of the savannah by raising it in the air on the rock. This is the beginning of the cartoon with the background "the story of life", the gazelles are rearing up, the elephants are barring, the monkeys are shouting, all are celebrating the birth of their future king. Rafiki appears several times in the cartoon, notably when he learns that Simba has disappeared after Mufasa's death, denying the throne and his destiny. One evening, during one of his rituals, he discovers that Simba is still alive, so he takes his cane to join him. He surprises Simba at the moment when the latter is wondering whether he should go and reconquer his throne and chase Scar away to take back what is rightfully his, as Nala asks. Hidden in the trees, Rafiki sings and reveals to Simba that he knows his identity. He quickly runs away before stopping and putting himself in the Zen lotus posture, like a wise man. Between two blows of sticks on Simba's head, Rafiki makes him understand that mistakes belong to the past. In this scene, the chuck tells her how to communicate with her late father who appears and asks Simba to take back the throne. In this Pop! figurine, Rafiki is shown with young Simba in his arms.
