The Black Smurf is from the very first Smurfs album created by Peyo. The story unfolds as the Smurfs are busy building a bridge over a river near their village. Papa Smurf sends a Smurf into the forest and the Smurf is stung by the Bzz fly that turns him into a Black Smurf in seconds ...Black Smurf not only changes the color of his skin, his character is also transformed. He becomes aggressive and attacks the other Smurfs to contaminate them in turn. Soon, many Smurfs are transformed into Black Smurfs and Papa Smurf must quickly develop an antidote.Papa Smurf finally develops the antidote after noticing that the Bzz fly has turned blue from pollen. While he was the only "survivor" of the outbreak, Papa Smurf was also bitten before he could treat the others. Luckily, his laboratory explodes in the battle and the antidote is released into the air bringing the Smurfs back to normal.As a tribute to the Smurfs' very first album, Funko offers a POP figurine of a GNAP Smurf (Black Smurf). Contrary to the other Smurfs POP figurines such as the Smurfette or the Brainy Smurf, the character is much more aggressive...One discovers an entirely black Smurf, with a tight jaw and eyes of a terrifying red. His clothes are identical: white pants and white hat, but it is impossible to be mistaken: it is indeed the GNAP Smurfs!To note: the version of a violent and nasty "Black Smurf" was censored in certain countries fearing an amalgamation and the comic strip was republished with purple Smurfs instead of black!
