A film as complete as The Fifth Element, in addition to its science-fiction and action springs, needed a very marked line of humor. In addition to Leeloo's "Multipass" or Zorg's grating rigidity, the character of Ruby Thod is the comic element par excellence that the film needed to be even more enjoyable than it already was.Ruby Rhod is played by Chris Tucker, a role in which the actor gives a performance of unparalleled eccentricity. The character appears in the plot as Korben and Leeloo, in order to find the Diva that contains the four elements, are forced to travel after fraudulently winning a contest. While they were hoping to keep their cover under wraps, Ruby Rhod steps in. Rhod is a star on intergalactic radio, with nearly 50 billion listeners. Because of his fame, he is a star adored by all - starting with the women - and then draws attention to Korben by seeking to interview him to congratulate him for winning the contest. With his more than exotic wardrobe, his blond banana haircut, his model's walk that makes too much of it, the character is so colorful that there is no shade to describe him exactly. Like Korben, he will find himself involved in spite of himself in the events surrounding the Fifth Element. Embarked following the turbulent events that occurred during the Divo concert, he will come to Leeloo's aid when she seeks to activate the four elements to create the weapon that will eradicate Evil.It is to him that we owe the activation of the element of fire, making the character one of the saviors of the universe. After his rescue, he will leave Korben and Leeloo to go back to his radio show, as if this journey was just a customary interlude for him.As agreed, Ruby Rhod's POP represents him in all his splendor and especially, with all the eccentricity that characterizes the character. Indeed, Ruby Rhod is dressed in a leopard outfit that covers him from his feet to his collar wide open on this POP figure. What's more, no one would be able to ignore the blonde, cannon-like banana haircut that is also naturally featured atop Ruby Rhod's head.On his left hand, the Ruby Rhod POP figure carries a cane with a microphone at its tip. A tool he uses to conduct interviews, more than once putting it under Korben's nose at the risk of annoying him. Ruby Rhod's POP in The 5th Element is very faithful to the character down to the last detail, wearing a mole under her right eye, a necklace around her neck and a personal wireless microphone attached to her right ear.The whole panoply of Rudy Rhod is magnificently retranscribed while the character, expansive as he knows how to be, is presented here with his arms wide open, probably getting restless as we can guess from this particularly restless character. A nice wink from Funko for all the fans of The Fifth Element!
