If only one word were to define Gustavo Fring, it would still be an understatement. In the middle of the criminals belonging to the various Mexican cartels, Gustavo Fring, known as "Gus", is a notorious exception. An exception with regard to his character but also with regard to his criminal methods which will have been worth to him to be one of the most redoubtable drug traffickers of the series Breaking Bad.Far, very far from all that one can expect from a member of a cartel, Gustavo Fring draws his pride from his methods. He, unlike the Salamanca family and all the Mexican families that are subservient to Don Elado, proceeds with finesse, discretion, and never draws attention to himself. In the eyes of his contemporaries, Gustavo Fring is nothing other than a friendly Chilean businessman who takes care of his employees and even goes so far as to establish ties with the Albuquerque police to provide them with food. But as soon as the eyes are no longer turned towards him, his debonair and smiling character disappears behind an icy face: his true face.Relentless, methodical, perfectionist to the point of excess and never leaving anything to chance in his legal or illegal affairs, Gustavo Fring owes his success to being one of the most meticulous men in the world. Able to invest colossal sums of money to better develop the drug trade in New Mexico, he was originally considered by the Mexico City cartel to be nothing more than a courier in their service.Using his fast food franchise Los Pollos Hermanos to move drugs across the border in an ingenious way, Gustavo Fring nevertheless harbors a growing resentment towards his partners. A resentment that he keeps smothered for many years by plotting a revenge that no argument would ever temper...During the events of the series Breaking Bad, he will become the employer of Walter White and Jesse Pinkman. An initially viable partnership that, due to the mistakes of the two men, will eventually turn against them. The Funko POP figure of Gustavo Fring had to perfectly reproduce the cold and placid character of the character. Indeed, Gustavo's face rarely expresses his feelings. Feelings that we guess are absent as the character is icy despite the torments he keeps for himself. The POP of Gus represents him as a businessman working for the cartel. He does not wear the shirt and tie of his uniform in Los Pollos Hermanos on the figure. Instead, he wears a custom-made three-piece suit in blue, which we can guess is from a very famous brand. Finally, in a nod to the character and fans of the series, Funko has depicted Gustavo Fring taking his right hand to his tie to readjust it, a mechanical and iconic gesture that reflects both his perfectionist nature and the last gesture we know him for.
