One of the main characters in the animated movie Corpse Bride, Victor's story is the story of an old Jewish legend in which a young man puts a ring in a piece of wood and sees it turn into a young woman buried a few years earlier when she was supposed to get married.The animated film, directed by Tim Burton in stop motion, retraces the journey of Victor Van Dort, a shy and clumsy young man. He is to marry Victoria Everglot in an arranged marriage between the two families.During the first date with his bride, and then during the wedding rehearsals, Victor is particularly uncomfortable. Panic-stricken, he flees into the forest, where he isolates himself to repeat his vows. He then passes the ring over a piece of wood resembling a finger when Emily appears.
