Miranda Priestly is one of the main characters in the famous comedy The Devil Wears Prada released in 2006. This film is the film adaptation of the eponymous novel which tells the story of a young journalism graduate, Andrea Sachs "Andy" who gets her first job as assistant to the editor of the famous fashion magazine Runway, Miranda Priestly. Working for Miranda is not easy as she is known to be very temperamental and tyrannical, but Andy is holding on in the hope of finding a better job in a year's time. The first time they meet, Andy walks into Miranda's office, staring at her and scornfully asks her to introduce herself and explain why she is there. Andy then shyly explains that she is a young journalism graduate looking for a job. Miranda then reproaches her for not reading Runway and for knowing nothing about the world of fashion. She also criticizes her style of dress. Andy is unimpressed and points out that she used to be the editor of the college newspaper and won university journalism awards for the articles she wrote. Miranda interrupts him before she can even finish her sentence with a hand gesture scornful enough to let him know she doesn't want to hear the rest. Andy doesn't let himself be beaten down and defends himself by explaining that she knows nothing about fashion but that she's not stupid, she's a quick learner. At that moment, Miranda is impressed, her eyes show a little more esteem for Andy. Then Nigel, the artistic director of the magazine arrives in the office and that puts an end to the meeting. A few days later, Miranda recruits Andy. Very clumsy, Andy will undergo the humiliating treatments of Miranda for whom physical appearance is much more important than talent. On several occasions, Miranda will stare at Andy and criticize the way he is dressed. Andy realizes that she absolutely must change her style to gain the respect of her boss. With Nigel's help, she will change her style and that impresses Miranda. This pop figure of Miranda Priestly is perfect for all fans of the famous comedy The Devil Wears Prada!
