Mushu is one of the main characters in the Mulan cartoon. He is a little dragon, who spits fire, joker, self-centered and impulsive. He was the guardian of the Fa family until one day he fails to protect a family member. Since then, he has been demoted to the position of incense burner and gong ringer. In the cartoon Mulan, he appears when the ancestors of the Fa family wake him up and give him a mission: to go and wake the stone dragon to protect Mulan and bring her home. Mulan is the main heroine of the cartoon. She is the only daughter of Fa Zhou, a wounded former war hero, and Fa Li. With the invasion of the Huns, led by their leader Shan Yu, the emperor orders the conscription of one man per family to join the army and protect the country. Mulan, seeing his father too old and walking with a cane refuses to see him go to battle for honor, he would not return alive. So she decides to take his place. In the night following the announcement of the call to battle, she cuts her hair, takes the sword and puts on her father's armour. She also substitutes the conscription order in her parents' room and leaves her hairpin in its place. This is when the ancestors awaken Mushu. In trying to wake the stone dragon, Mushu shatters him in a daze. He makes the ancestors believe that he has succeeded in his mission and that the stone dragon is on his way to protect Mulan. With Cri-Kee, Mulan's lucky cricket, they decide to go and protect her by themselves. Mushu wants to make Mulan a war hero in order to regain his place as guardian of the family and regain the esteem of the ancestors, including the Great Ancestor who doesn't even consider him a dragon. Mushu and Cri-Kee form an inseparable duo in the cartoon, often at odds, we see them at several times in crushing situations. Cri-Kee is more cautious and altruistic while Mushu is impulsive and self-centered.In this special Pop! action figure, Funko naturally represents this very endearing duo of characters. Mushu is shown wearing the little blue purple Cri-Kee on his right. The figurine is faithful to the little dragon of the cartoon with beautiful bright colors: red and orange-yellow. The physical characteristics are well drawn: we recognize the long pair of yellow moustaches, the small blue purple horns and his long tail that make him a traditional Chinese dragon. Mushu is depicted with large black eyes and has a big smile with very sharp white teeth. Funko has also well represented his dragon snout. His smile and posture remind us of Mushu's playful side in the cartoon. In his right hand is posed Cri-kee, all cute and adorable.
