Scar is one of the "villainous" characters in the Disney cartoon The Lion King, released in 1994. The story takes place in the Land of Lions, where Mufasa, Scar's older brother, reigns. At the beginning of the cartoon, all the animals celebrate the birth of the future king, Simba, son of Mufasa and Queen Sabari. Scar has only one goal: to take the throne by joining forces with hyenas to eliminate his brother and nephew Simba. His name Scar comes from the English word meaning "scar" in reference to the one he has on his left eye. Scar is a Machiavellian being, he is ruthless, manipulative and devious. In the cartoon, he takes advantage of young Simba's naivety to manipulate him and incite him to go to the elephant cemetery behind the northern border hill, which his father has forbidden his father to enter because it is too dangerous. Later, Scar orchestrates a new Machiavellian trap by inciting Simba to wait for an alleged surprise from his father, in the hollow of the canyon. The three hyenas are then ordered to chase the wildebeest. In panic, they flee en masse towards the canyon, where the little lion cub is. Warned by Scar, Mufasa comes to the aid of his son, clinging to a frail tree branch and manages to save him.Mufasa then climbs the cliff to get out of danger, but is betrayed by Scar, who pushes him off and crashes into the wildebeest. When the last wildebeest finally leaves the gorge, Simba finds her father lying dead on the ground. Scar persuades him that he is responsible for his father's death and invites him to go into exile. Simba escapes a final attempt on his life ordered by his uncle and flees into the desert.In this chase version of the Pop! figurine, we find Scar with his cartoon appearance: rather skinny with brown fur and black mane. We recognize his almond-shaped eyes and his scar on his left eye. Unlike the other lions in the movie, he doesn't retract his claws that we see on the pop figure faithful to the character. He is depicted surrounded by flames, which further accentuates the Machiavellian side of the character.
