Aang is the main character of the American animated television series: Avatar, the Last Airbender. He is a young boy who belongs to the Air Nomads, that is, people who master the element of air. Aang is also the new Avatar, a man or woman who possesses the ability to master the four elements (Water, Earth, Fire and Air) whose sole purpose is to maintain the balance between the Four Nations and preserve world peace. The day Aang learns that he has become the Avatar, he flees in fear with his faithful flying buffalo Appa. He is very close to animals and loves to discover new ones and play with them. He is a monk who does not eat meat and is deeply pacifist. Indeed, he often refuses direct confrontation preferring to discuss with his opponents and even when he has no choice, he makes sure to put his opponents out of harm's way without hurting them.
