Jared is one of the members of the development team and the latest addition to the Pied Piper project in the Silicon Valley series. This series tells the adventures of four developers working in a business incubator, the Hacker Hostel, managed by Erlich. Richard Hendricks is an employee of Hooli who develops, on his own time, a revolutionary compression algorithm that is becoming very coveted. He then has to choose between the proposal of his boss at Hooli, who offers to buy the application for a large sum of money, and that of another billionaire, Peter Gregory, who offers to invest so that he can develop his own application. Richard chooses the second option. He is then joined by several developers but also by Jared, an employee of Hooli, Gavin Belson's right hand man, who decides to resign to follow the Pied Piper adventure because he believes very strongly in the project.
