Ryô Bakura is a student in the same class as Yugi, Joey, Tristan and Téa. This one is a rather shy and self-effacing boy, always of good will. Like Yugi, he likes original games of all kinds and, naturally, he has already tried Duel Monsters. A game in which he is not one of the best, but in which he is expert enough to have been invited to the island of duelists by Pegasus.It is on the island of duelists that Yugi and his friends will cross his path during a night with friends. An evening which, however, will know a turn for the least chilling when they will discover that Bakura is not this sympathetic high-school student that they thought to know. Because indeed, behind his debonair airs, Bakura is possessed by the soul of an Egyptian criminal of the ancient times.Just as Yugi has the Millennium Puzzle around his neck, a sacred artifact that contains the soul of the Pharaoh Atem, Ryô Bakura has the Millennium Ring around his neck, which contains the spirit of the bandit Bakura, a declared enemy of the Pharaoh. In a way, Yugi and Bakura perpetuate the rivalry of two Egyptian personalities that live on through their bodies. Except that Yami Bakura - the generic name given to Bakura when he is possessed by the soul of his Millennium object - is inherently evil. The difference between Bakura and Yami Bakura is indeed as obvious as between Dr. Jekyl and Mr. Hyde.Yami Bakura will not hesitate to kill to achieve his goals, even when he fights with Yugi's gang, always to guarantee his interests. This alliance will lead him to face Yami Marik who will emerge during the final stages of the tournament. After being defeated by the latter in a duel of shadows, Yami Bakura will manage to subsist in a part of the Millennium Puzzle of Yugi while waiting to emerge. This he will accomplish during the last arc of the series where he will finally occupy the status of main antagonist.The Yami Bakura Funko POP figure, judging by the clothes he wears, represents him as he was during the Battle City arc.
