Yorkie is the main character of the episode San Junipero of the Netflix series Black Mirror. She is an introverted young woman who is afraid to be in public and likes to keep to herself. She has a hard time making friends and even harder to make relationships, but one night, her life will change and she will do anything to find Kelly, even if it means shaking her beliefs and reality.In the city of San Junipero, Yorkie, a shy young woman of about 25, walks into Tucker's Bar, which is also a nightclub and a dining hall. After a game, Yorkie sat down at a table and began sipping a cola when the African-American man she spotted before entering the establishment approached her and asked her to play his girlfriend to get rid of an embarrassing person...The young African-American girl named Kelly then apologized to the employee and started a conversation before offering him a glass of water at the counter. Kelly then wanted to dance with Yorkie, but Yorkie preferred to go out. Kelly followed her to start the conversation.Yorkie returned to see Tucker except that this time Kelly was not there. The bartender advised him to go then in a kind of disused factory reconverted into night club. There, Yorkie discovered a completely different atmosphere, but without any trace of Kelly.Yorkie is thus unceasingly looking for Kelly. However, the truth bursts... The "true" Kelly moves towards the hospital where the "true" Yorkie is... While everything opposes these two women, something powerful will link them... in reality.Considered one of the best characters on the show, Kelly hides a darker reality, but the fact that she lives in the moment and does everything for fun and pleasure is the message she has to deliver.
